Product Overview
The Leadshine DM542 is a fully digital 2-phase stepper motor driver designed for medium-size hybrid stepper motors from NEMA 17 to NEMA 34. It runs from a 20–50 VDC supply and delivers 1.0 to 4.2 A peak (up to 3.0 A RMS) output current, selectable in 8 steps by DIP switch, with 15 microstep resolutions from 400 to 25,600 steps per revolution.
Its advanced digital control with anti-resonance, motor auto-identification, multi-stepping and soft-start gives smoother motion, higher torque at mid-range speeds and lower motor heating and noise than conventional analog drives. Optically isolated step/direction (or CW/CCW) inputs accept 5–24 V signals at up to 200 kHz, and built-in over-voltage and over-current protection keep the drive and motor safe in CNC and automation machines.
